Friendship Centers of Emmet County is hiring a Bus Driver / Transportation Department Staff member!

If you enjoy driving, helping people, and being part of a team that makes a difference every day, we’d love to meet you. Our drivers do more than get passengers from one stop to the next. They offer a warm welcome, a helping hand, and a safe, comfortable ride.

What you’ll do

• Drive a 15-passenger, lift-equipped bus on scheduled routes.
• Help passengers board and exit, operate the vehicle lift, and secure mobility equipment.
• Adjust your driving to road, traffic, and weather conditions.
• Communicate with dispatch and complete vehicle inspections, trip records, and fare records.
• Keep your vehicle clean and welcoming.
• Carry groceries or packages to a client’s door when needed.
• Train to serve as a backup Meals on Wheels driver and dispatcher.

What you’ll bring

• A Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
• A high school diploma.
• Strong customer service skills and a patient, professional approach.
• The ability to follow instructions, work safely, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• The ability to meet applicable background check, physical, and drug and alcohol testing requirements.
